Still waiting for v 2.0.0

The bot is designed to respond to anyone that uses it nick one time. After that .. the bot will "focus" on just that individual and respond to anything that person says. The nick only needs to be used once. Then by saying .. shutup .. the bot stops responding to anyone until someone once again uses the bot's nick.

The bot is configured to work with only one bot at a time. So if you have it set to your personal bot .. then you can train it like normal and it will give the responses you have made for it. I've done a fair bit of work on my bot .. making it appear as human as possible. But there are still times when it will pop up something in reference to it being a bot.

Spoof .. you just answered your own question. This script is for using bots from http://www.pandorabots.com/botmaster/en/home .

It ain't gonna work with anything else.

napa182 - You didn't understand what I said. This is what you said ...

"That is what a blacklist does it kick/bans them when they try to join a channel they are blacklisted from."

So let me make it clear .. it does NOT do this. IF you remove the ban that was set on the server .. it won't work. The blacklisted nick is allowed back IN.

When you MANUALLY do a kick/ban .. the ban goes on the server. I have a limited number of nicks that I can maintain on the server. So I have to remove them from the server to have room for more bans. SUPPOSEDLY .. the black list will id the nick upon entry from its list and kick/ban them again. But it AIN'T happening with this script.

So I may as well fill up all the slots available on the server and simply manually ban them .. since THIS BLACKLIST will let them back in.

It only does one thing for me .. adds the ban onto the server. If the ban is removed from the server .. it does nothing when the person returns. I don't need a script that is something already built into mIRC kick/ban. I need a black list that will kick/ban EVERY TIME the person comes in .. regardless of them being on the server's ban list or not.

We have a limited number of bans available on the server per channel. We already have more bans than the server allows .. so this is useless.

Okay .. so why doesn't this thing work? You put it together .. someone in the channel .. add the nick with /blist .. and they get kicked & banned.. All well and good .. but when you have too many on the server's ban list .. you can't add anymore ... so what do you do .. you remove them from the server .. and what do I expect to happen .. that this black list takes over .. and will kick/ban them when they return .. but it doesn't .. and yes .. the nick is still active. So as it stands for me .. it's a complete waste of my time. I don't need a script to kick/ban someone everytime they come into the channel.

ManicWaldo commented on a Page, Color Font 1.2  -  Jun 21, 2011

Since I didn't like being forced to use a background color .. white background on a white field is okay if the reader is using a white background .. but looks harsh on a black background .. I modified it slightly this way:

; this one will give you a choice for a colored background, default is white
; set %color.font $+ %cf.font $+ , $+ %cf.bkgrd
; this one removes the colored background
set %color.font $+ %cf.font

There is something I really would like to see in your bot. An adjustable kick/ban for idle users based on their /whois idle time with three variables that can adjusted. 1. How often it checks for the idle time. 2. How long the person can be idle before kick/ban. 3. How long the ban will remain in effect.

The devoice for idling does not work for the channels in my server. The channels are purposely left unmoderated so the + added to a nick has a special meaning while those w/o the + have a different meaning. The time needed before lifting the ban is to insure the idle user doesn't auto reconnect before their auto reconnect runs out of reconnects.

And yes, I am aware of scripts that are specifically made just to circumvent the no idle policy set. But the number of people who are aware of such things are small.

A simple timer for idling doesn't work because the person may be in private chat and not active in the channel so I don't want them kick/banned. That's why the /whois idle time is needed.

Thanks MaSOuD.

ray ... that should be the channel limiter. Click F4 and the Channel Limiter tab. It's purpose is to prevent clone flooding.

Unfortunately the scripter did not set this up to use a password to log into servers that require a password. So my question is simply why didn't the scripter simply use the already present mIRC connection system? At least then ... all the possible parameters .. ie .. group .. password .. etc would have been available.

Because of the above .. this bot is completely useless to me since I can't even log into the server where I wanted to try this out.

One last note ... the author said ... "I am not into mIRC really anymore" ... so I am not hopeful for this to be rectified.

Very simple and right to the point. Good job for all three basic greet methods. Thanks.

Thank you very much for this. It is excellent. I did however run into a minor problem. We did a "work around" and it's fine now. The owner of a room that I run my bot has a services bot in there also. She has it set up for auto-greet whenever anyone comes in. This insures she gets notified whenever someone new comes in. However .. she has a cute little feature on her bot .. whenever it's name is mentioned .. it makes a short little response .. like ... No way or Absolutely .. etc.

So when I take my chat bot in there .. an infinite loop begins ... her bot gives a short little quip .. my bot responds ... and the only way to stop it is to remove my bot. At least at first.

However ... we found that by setting her bot to ignore my bot .. there is but a short brief exchange.
Herbot .. Welcome mybot
Mybot ... (herbot) what is your name
Herbot .. (no response & no looping)

But there is a little thing does happen. Since my bot is now focused on her bot ... each time someone comes in ... her bot says Welcome newcomernick and my bot responds to her bot and that is all .. no loop. But we can live with that. And as long as I or one of us in "the know" is there ... we just tell my bot to shutup.
