Hello all Hawkee citizens. It is I, here to bring you a snippet of a programming language called AppleScript.
This is for display purposes only and should be used only to get people into the hang of using AppleScript.
display dialog "Hello World!"
-- Gives you a simple "Hello World!" box with an OK and Cancel buttons.
-- or
display alert "Hello World!"
-- Gives you a windows with only an OK button.
-- or
say "Hello World!"
-- Ah ha, this is where it gets fun. Using say means that it will not display text, but it will speak them for you. Sort of like Microsoft Sam's function in Windows.
-- and
-- Lines starting with two hyphens are simply comments to be made in the script, they do not effect anything at all.
Jethro_, haha. I know it has no use in Windows, and I know I copied most of it from Wikipedia, but I did add my own comments so some of it is mine. This really isn't to be used, but to just teach basic commands and get the feel of it. Wikipedia does a better job with more scripts, I know, bust just thought I would start off the AppleScript section with something.
And Jethro_, not everyone uses Windows, and it is pretty obvious it won't be of use since it is called AppleScript. Not everyone on Hawkee is using Windows. I use both operating systems, and Ubuntu at times. Just saying.
